Broughton travelled to Italy to meet up
with our friends of
Borgo Poncarale for the 2005 end of season Tour!
Staying at the Ambasciatori Hotel,
the tourists had fun and caused mayhem throughout their stay, prompting the
management to issue the party with a letter on the last evening requesting that
water games be curtailed.
Nightclub Secondaclasse,
owned by former Italian rugby Internationalist Massimo Bonomi was a source of
great alcoholic consumption and quality toots.
In the North....
Playing
rugby in 32 degree heat at 6.15 at night is something many of you will never
experience. To be honest, you do not want to!
Suffice to
say, the match on the Saturday was cut short (we played 3 periods of 20 mins) and despite taking
an early lead from a Paul Hamer try, the result was rarely in doubt (whatever
the result was!). Tour photos
