News::::It's all Academic for Broughton - 03/09/04

Broughton have welcomed a new 'North Edinburgh Alliance' with local Clubs Edinburgh Accies & Trinity Accies ahead of their opening clash of the season with Portobello at Wardie Playing Fields this Saturday.

Broughton's Honorary Secretary Mark Brown is delighted to be part of the project which sets up a three rung system to further assist the fringe players from all Clubs to reach their potential, whilst still allowing the Clubs to build and retain their seperate identities.  "Whilst continuing to benefit from the extensive coaching resources that have been available at Raeburn Place over the past two seasons, having nearby neighbours Trinity involved means that players who find the step up to Ian Barnes's side too large they can apply themselves further up the league at Bangholm where, incidentally, Ian's son David is undertaking his first coaching challenge."

He added "The three way system benefits our Club considerably and we are delighted to be able to call upon resources allowed through the SRU approved Club Association system".
